Emiliano & Sara: a new life in nature
Emiliano and Sara’s story at Tenuta Valdorso came to be a bit by chance.
After a few years of marriage, the couple decided to start a business in the field of event-hosting, with a specific focus on weddings.
At the beginning, they looked for a building to renovate in the area around the outskirts of Como Lake, a location that would have enabled both of them to maintain their job commitments and at the same time manage the new business. After a great deal of searching, the perfect spot just didn’t seem to exist, and Emiliano and Sara’s entrepreneurial dream was at the point of being abandoned.
Almost by chance, the couple happened upon several ads for old farmsteads to be renovated in the Monferrato area. Moved most out of curiosity, they began to visit Piedmont and the Langhe. This magical place had an immediate effect on them, and so, Emiliano and Sara decided to get back on with their almost-abandoned plans.
As they approached Tenuta Valdorso for the first time, they were instantaneously awe-stricken by the small road that leads to the farmstead! Even if the property is close to the village of Montechiaro D’Acqui, that little road gave them a strong feeling of separation from the chaos of city life. Tenuta Valdorso seems to be the perfect mix of peace, silence and nature: the perfect place for a perfect wedding!
And so renovation began, as did choosing the decor, PR planning, looking for suppliers, and establishing contact with weddings agencies along with everything else that needs to be done to achieve the perfect event location. Even before opening, a few people decided to organize their wedding there – an almost unexpected success.
“To chase a dream, you need courage and even a bit of disregard, but the important thing is believing in it and using your heart…”
After spending quite a lot of time in Montechiaro d’Acqui during renovation, Emiliano and Sara realized how simple it really was for them to adapt to such a different lifestyle to the chaotic one they had been used to previously, and how much relief the “sound of silence” that surrounds the farmstead provides.
They came to the realization that such a place could have been much more than just an event location to be used for a few hours, but rather it should have been a refuge for all those who feel the need to take a break from every-day life.
This is how the plan to re-define the Tenuta was born, in the middle of a plan in progress, and since the 1st of October 2011, it has been a splendid agri-resort that welcomes its guests for relaxing holidays, farm holidays and everything in between, in luscious natural surroundings.
